The Mausoleum of Akbar at Sikandra, India
Sikandra is a site located 15 km on the road from Agra to Delhi. Cobra fame because in the midst of a big village of monkeys and deer, is the huge tomb of Emperor Akbar, who died in 1605.

The monument is one of the finished examples of Indo-Islamic architecture, in the tradition of Mongolia. Akbar was himself who began building his own mausoleum, completed by his son to 1613.
Were used in its construction tiles, red sandstone inlaid with white marble decor, making it a magnificent temple worth visiting. Once inside the mausoleum where lies the tomb of Emperor Akbar, it goes a long narrow corridor and up reach the cenotaph where the monarch.

The attraction consists of two buildings surrounded by gardens, and in the south there is a big door which is accessed by four minarets domes that crown in chattris, much reminiscent to those seen in the Taj Mahal.
