An underwater museum in Alexandria, Egypt
In October, an international scientific committee, will begin to discuss the projects submitted for the construction of the first underwater museum for antiquities that have been found in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea at Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great in the fourth century BC, in northern Egypt.
In the eastern port of Alexandria, some 200 kilometers north of Cairo, the museum comprises a network of tunnels perspex glass, who can resist the water pressure and winds from the sea. In this museum, visitors can see the antiques in their original places next to the aquatic nature.
In areas east of the port of Alexandria and Abu Quir many antiques from various dynasties of Pharaonic and Greco-Roman period (341 BC-395 AD).
